The Redmi Note series is getting a major update. The official announcement previously stated that the global sales of this product line have exceeded 500 million units in 12 years, and the new Note 17 series is confirmed to be launched this month.
Hu Xinxin, the product manager in charge of this model, has posted photos, indicating that the Note 17 series is already in rehearsal preparation.
Many people may wonder why the previous generation was the Note15, and this time it jumped directly to 17, skipping 16 in between. This is mainly to maintain consistency with the naming rhythm of Xiaomi’s number series.
This series has always been known as the “National Little King Kong” and is positioned as a mid-range mainstream model. This new product will be comprehensively upgraded in terms of screen, battery life, and overall durability.
At least two models have been revealed so far, both featuring a 1.5K flat screen and waterproofing, so there’s not much to worry about from everyday bumps and splashes.
The base version features a Snapdragon 6 Gen5 processor, a 9000mAh battery, and a 50MP main rear camera. The high-end version boasts even higher hardware specifications, with a Dimensity 7500 processor, a 10000mAh battery, and a 20MP main rear camera.
Hu Xinxin, who is in charge of this new phone, has extensive product development experience, having previously worked on the Xiaomi Civi series. She understands the needs of ordinary users regarding appearance and feel. This time, her move to REDMI will bring more design ideas that resonate with young people to the Note series. She has already started rehearsals for the launch event and will explain all the highlights of the new phone in detail at the event.
The official strategy this time is to upgrade specifications without lowering the price range. This involves increasing battery capacity, upgrading the camera, and enhancing water and shock resistance, while maintaining a stable price point for mid-range models. With 500 million users accumulated over 12 years, this product line clearly has a massive user base.
