The next-generation mid-range powerhouse! MediaTek Dimensity 8500 released

Fast Technology reported that after more than a year of waiting, MediaTek’s mid-range flagship processor has finally been updated.

The Dimensity 8500 was officially released today, with comprehensive performance improvements, especially in gaming, imaging, and AI.

It is manufactured using TSMC’s N4P process, and the CPU is a second-generation all-big-core architecture, consisting of 1*3.4GHz Cortex-A725 + 3*3.20GHz Cortex-A725 + 4*2.20GHz Cortex-A725.

According to official sources, the Dimensity 8500’s multi-core performance is improved by 7% compared to its predecessor, and its supported memory bandwidth is increased by 12%, achieving an AnTuTu score of over 2.4 million.

The GPU uses the Mali-G720 MC8, which has a 25% improvement in peak performance compared to its predecessor, but a 20% reduction in peak power consumption, and it is also the first to support flagship-level ray tracing.

Taking Genshin Impact as an example, a phone equipped with the Dimensity 8500 can provide a frame rate of 59.4 frames per second for half an hour of map running, while the power consumption is 18% lower than that of competing products.

It supports the Tianji scheduling engine, which can improve the login loading speed of mainstream games by 17% to 25%.

In addition, the Tianji Star Speed Engine also supports superframe. In a certain urban action-adventure mobile game, the 60 frames achieved through superframe can consume 30% less power than the native 60 frames per second.

It supports adaptive control technology, which can reduce the power consumption of “Identity V” by 10%.

It integrates the powerful MediaTek NPU 880, supporting mainstream large language models (LLM/MLLM) and image generation models (Stable Diffusion) worldwide.

The imaging performance has also been greatly improved, supporting AI ultra-clear telephoto algorithm, which can reproduce details highly even when shooting at the original distance, and multi-frame fusion ultra-high pixel direct output, resulting in clearer and more detailed photos.

In addition, there are AI-powered anti-reflection, anti-glare, and magic removal technologies, allowing you to get high-quality photos with just one click.
