The official announcement from Huawei states that the number of HarmonyOS 6 devices has surpassed 70 million.

Huawei has officially announced that the total number of terminal devices equipped with the HarmonyOS system has exceeded 70 million, a growth rate that far exceeds the industry’s previous expectations.

He Gang, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, stated on social media that the achievement of over 70 million HarmonyOS 6 devices does not belong to the company alone, but to every user who trusts HarmonyOS, the developers who participated in the ecosystem co-construction, and all the ecosystem partners who worked together.

He mentioned that the HarmonyOS ecosystem is a completely innovative, open, and vibrant system. Currently, most mainstream and popular applications on the market release HarmonyOS-specific experience iterations almost every month.

More and more application vendors are choosing HarmonyOS as the platform for the first release or even the exclusive release of new features. We also look forward to more developers joining us to participate in innovation and welcome more users to upgrade their experience. Together, we are moving at full speed toward the new milestone of 100 million users.

At the Huawei Developer Conference held on June 12, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s executive director and chairman of the Consumer Business Group, announced relevant development data. HarmonyOS has now firmly established itself as the second largest smartphone operating system in China, and its user base and market acceptance are still growing at an extremely rapid pace, with no signs of slowing down.

More importantly, the HarmonyOS 7 version, which was officially unveiled at the Huawei Developer Conference last month, has completed a key iteration that completely decouples from the Android ecosystem. It has completely broken free from its dependence on the compatibility layer of external technologies, and the underlying independence and native security capabilities of the entire system have reached a new level, forming a native operating system system that is fully independent and controllable across the entire chain.

In response to the long-standing unfounded rumors that HarmonyOS is simply an Android shell, Zhu Dongdong, president of Huawei’s terminal tablet and PC product line, had previously publicly and explicitly denied them, stating that such baseless claims are essentially a deliberate attempt to smear the achievements of domestic R&D teams over the years.

Yu Chengdong has repeatedly made clear clarifications to the public in public to address similar misunderstandings. The actual usage experience of a large number of users over a long period of time has also shattered these unfounded malicious speculations with real feedback.
