The old flagship is fully revived! The official battery of the Xiaomi 14 Pro can be upgraded to 5140mAh

According to Fast Technology on August 31, blogger “Experience More” revealed that the official battery upgrade service for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which will be launched soon, can upgrade the battery to 5140mAh, which is 260mAh larger than the original battery.

Xiaomi officially announced back in June that the battery upgrade service for the Xiaomi 14 series is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter, supporting the addition of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro models.

This is a protection plan launched by Xiaomi specifically for older models. Based on official adaptation, it replaces the batteries of older models with new ones with larger capacities, thereby bringing further improvements in battery life.

The Xiaomi 13 series has been launched previously, covering three models: Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

For reference, the upgraded battery capacities of the Xiaomi 13 series are as follows:

Xiaomi 13: The 4500mAh battery has been upgraded to 4850mAh, an increase of approximately 7.8% in capacity;

Xiaomi 13 Pro: The 4820mAh battery has been upgraded to 5361mAh, an increase of approximately 11% in capacity;

Xiaomi 13 Ultra: The 5000mAh battery has been upgraded to 5500mAh, an increase of approximately 10%.

Xiaomi stated that due to the increased capacity of the new battery, the charging speed remains the same under the same charging power, therefore the charging time of the new battery will be longer than that of the old battery.

In addition, because the upgraded battery has a different capacity and charging method than the standard battery, the phone needs to be upgraded to a specific system version when replacing it.

For an older flagship phone, an official battery upgrade is a game-changer, allowing users to significantly improve battery life without replacing the entire device by replacing the battery with one of a larger capacity capacity.

This is especially important for users given the current surge in mobile phone prices, allowing them to hold onto their older flagship phones until memory and phone prices drop.
