Fast Technology reported that at a MediaTek press conference, vivo and MediaTek announced that the vivo X500 Pro series will be the world’s first to be equipped with the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro flagship chip.
According to Han Boxiao, vivo’s product manager, this chip is the result of three years of in-depth joint research and development between the two parties.
Back in 2023, the vivo team discovered a key inflection point on the energy efficiency curve: the ultra-large core’s power consumption performance was better than that of the medium core in high-load scenarios.
Heavy-load games rely on increasing the number of large cores to bear the pressure, while medium-to-light-load scenarios such as social information feeds rely on medium cores to distribute the tasks.
Based on this assessment, vivo proposed a dual-core CPU architecture, which, after three years of refinement with MediaTek, was finally implemented in the Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, achieving a super-cool and super-intelligent flagship experience.
In addition to performance architecture, the two parties jointly implemented five major imaging technologies:

Han Boxiao stated frankly that the goal of the vivo X500 Pro series is “first in photography, only in video”.
To achieve cinematic video standards, Blueprint has deeply customized its imaging hardware, equipping it with the “Blueprint Pro 900” Zeiss super dynamic main camera, co-developed with Sony, which boosts the dynamic range of the video to a cinematic 17EV.
In terms of video capabilities, thanks to the experience gained from the X300 Ultra, Vivo has equipped the Blueprint 900 with OIS 3-degree wide-angle gimbal-level image stabilization, doubling the stabilization range compared to its predecessor. In still photography scenarios, the camera’s stabilization performance is equally outstanding, reaching the CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilization standard.
In addition, there’s the Zeiss 200MP APO super telephoto lens, using the same Blueprint x Samsung HP0 sensor as the X300 Ultra, boasting a 1/1.4-inch super-large sensor and supporting hardware 4x ISOZ. The telephoto algorithm has also been iterated and upgraded, bringing improvements to three core capabilities.
