Xiaomi 18 Pro series officially announced for release this month, expected to start at 6999 yuan:

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series has been officially announced to be released this month, and specific information is expected to be gradually revealed starting tomorrow.

Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group, said, “This will be the most significant and comprehensive upgrade to Xiaomi’s digital flagship series.”

Previous leaks suggested that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series would be the first to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2nm flagship SoC chip across the entire lineup. The highly anticipated Magic Screen from its predecessor, as well as imaging capabilities, battery life, AI capabilities, and other aspects, would all offer next-generation experience innovations.

Lu Weibing also revealed a little bit in advance – the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be equipped with a brand new versatile back screen.

Last year’s Xiaomi 17 Pro series was the first to feature the Magic Screen back display, which was very popular and greatly improved the phone’s recognizability, earning it a good reputation.

According to reports, the new generation of rear screens will have better compatibility, and is expected to be compatible with more apps and offer more diverse gameplay options.

This generation still comes in two sizes: Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. It is the first to use TSMC’s 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro, with a transistor density 30% higher than the previous generation’s 3nm, and significant optimizations in power consumption control and sustained performance.

It adopts a third-generation Orion 2+3+3 tri-cluster eight-core CPU with 16MB of L2 cache, paired with an Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of dedicated graphics cache, and supports LPDDR6 high-speed memory. Its edge AI computing power, ray tracing games, and local large model running capabilities have set new records.

In terms of screen, both new phones will be equipped with a super pixel flat screen, achieving 2K resolution with 1K power consumption, and adopting a large rounded corner and ultra-narrow four-sided equal side design.

In terms of imaging, the Pro Max features a 200-megapixel LOFIC ultra-large sensor main camera + a 200-megapixel large sensor telephoto macro camera, plus an ultra-wide-angle lens, forming a triple-camera setup with two 200-megapixel sensors.

The Pro version features a 200MP ultra-large sensor main camera and a 200MP large sensor telephoto macro lens, but does not support LOFIC.

In terms of battery, the Pro, as a small-screen phone, is equipped with a large 7000mAh battery, while the Pro Max reaches 8000mAh, both supporting 100W flash charging and wireless charging.

It should be noted that due to the continuous rise in memory costs, coupled with comprehensive cross-generational experience innovation, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be priced starting at 6999/7999 yuan.
