vivo S60 series completely solves the Live feed problem

Fast Technology reported that vivo product manager Han Boxiao detailed the newly upgraded Live Photo feature of the vivo S60 series, providing a complete set of targeted optimization solutions to address the long-standing pain points of live shooting that users have complained about.

Han Boxiao frankly admitted that there have always been three long-standing pain points in shooting live streams with mobile phones, which have not been completely resolved for a long time. The first is the abrupt change in image. The static image selected as the cover and the dynamic live video do not match in terms of perspective, the tone and color are out of sync, and the transition process is not smooth at all.

The second issue is insufficient clarity; the exported live footage always appears to be covered by a semi-transparent mask, with details generally blurred. The third issue is a lack of atmosphere; despite excellent lighting and shadow effects on set, the final product falls far short of the desired atmosphere.

The vivo S60 series addressed these three long-standing pain points for users, achieving breakthroughs in two main dimensions. First, it refined the fundamental quality of Live Streaming, fundamentally resolving the long-standing issues of image jerking and insufficient clarity.

Addressing the industry-wide problem of jerky visuals, the S60 debuted a dedicated switch for native live streaming. The team broke away from traditional optimization approaches and innovatively integrated the entire tuning process from cover shooting to dynamic frame recording. Whether it’s angle alignment or tonal consistency, every frame is smooth. The entire optimization approach was defined by the team as the native feel standard.

Addressing the pain point of insufficient clarity, the S60 generation directly achieves 4K Live output. The team tackled the challenges from three dimensions simultaneously: end-to-end operational efficiency optimization, memory usage management, and intelligent frame rate temperature adjustment and heat dissipation, directly solving the three major technical difficulties that the industry had previously been unable to avoid in achieving 4K Live output.

After addressing these two core pain points, the team named this new generation of live streaming experience 4K Native Live. In terms of actual performance, the S60 has already joined the top tier of live streaming cameras in the industry.

The next step is to expand the fun gameplay of Live, specifically addressing the lack of atmosphere. The 3+6+n fun gameplay launched by the previous generation S series has already received a lot of positive feedback from users.

This generation of S60 will also debut the Starlight Live feature. While maintaining 4K resolution, the system can automatically identify highlights in the picture and render dynamic starbursts, maximizing the atmosphere.

In addition, the team has prepared a brand-new Live feature for users to unleash their creativity. We’ll keep it a secret for now, but you’ll be able to unlock and experience it once it’s officially released.

In terms of hardware configuration, this generation of S60 is equipped with a gimbal-level image stabilization main camera and an IMX882 large-sensor periscope telephoto lens. It also features the same dynamic beautification algorithm as the X series, ultimately achieving a comprehensive imaging experience that is stable, far-reaching, and beautiful.

Han Boxiao concluded by emphasizing that the S60 has achieved full-link 4K Live directly at the native camera level, delivering smooth and truly clear frames. By combining native-feel standard with 4K direct output, it has solved the pain point of live shooting that has plagued users for many years.
