vivo Y05 unveiled with Unisoc processor and enhanced battery capacity

The vivo Y04 was officially launched back in February of 2025 and now exactly one year after that initial launch the company has introduced its next generation smartphone the Y05 which has just made its debut in the Middle East.

The smartphone features fairly large display measuring 6.74 inches diagonally and this screen comes with resolution of 720 by 1600 pixels which ensures decent clarity for everyday use. This screen supports very smooth 120Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling through apps and animations feel fluid. The display is capable of reaching peak brightness of 1200 nits. Inside the phone is powered by the Unisoc T7225 processor which is limited to 4G connectivity and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. In terms of cameras the phone has a single 8 megapixel camera on the back for regular photos and video while for selfies there is a 5 megapixel front facing camera.

The vivo Y05 comes with a durable metal frame that runs along the edges of the phone while the back panel is made of plastic. On the side the power button doubles as fingerprint sensor allowing for easy and secure unlocking of the device with single touch. The device also carries an IP65 rating which makes it resistant to dust and protects it from minor splashes of water by adding layer of durability for everyday use. For alerts and notifications the device is equipped with RGB LED on the back which lights up to notify users of messages calls or app alerts. The phone draws its power from a large 6,500 mAh battery which ensures long lasting use throughout the day and it supports 15W wired charging to refill the battery relatively quickly when necessary.

The vivo Y05 smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 16 which is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system and it runs vivo’s custom OriginOS 6 on top providing additional features and a customized user interface. The phone’s dimensions are 167.4 by 77.1 by 8.4 millimeters giving it a moderately large footprint that is still comfortable to hold. The smartphone weighs 209 grams giving it a substantial yet manageable feel. Buyers can choose between two color variants black or white depending on personal preference. The device is priced at $109 making it affordable choice in the entry-level segment.
