Xiaomi REDMI 17 5G launched: 6.9-inch high refresh rate screen, 6300mAh large battery

Fast Technology reported that Xiaomi officially launched the REDMI 17 5G, a 5G phone with a large screen and long battery life, priced around 1000 yuan. It is mainly targeted at users who enjoy long hours of video playback, the elderly, and those who commute outdoors. The starting price is 999 yuan.

The new phone features a right-angled frame and a rectangular camera module on the back. It comes in three colors: Feather White, Starry Black, and Cool Mist Blue. The phone is 8.15mm thick and features a natural aesthetic design on the back with an integrated DECO camera module. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The front features a 6.9-inch LCD waterdrop screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720, supporting a 120Hz high refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, with a peak brightness of up to 800 nits.

The screen uses a full DC dimming solution, has passed triple TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification, and has been upgraded to support wet touch 2.0, so it can still be operated normally when the fingers are wet.

The processor is the UNISOC T8300 high-efficiency 5G octa-core chip from Unisoc, built using a 6nm process. The CPU architecture consists of two Cortex-A78 cores (2.2GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores (2.0GHz), while the GPU is a dual-core Mali-G57.

It offers two storage combinations: 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB, uses LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 flash memory, and is equipped with the HyperOS persistent smooth engine to reduce lag during long-term use and optimize background operation.

The system comes pre-installed with Xiaomi’s Surge OS 3, which includes exclusive features such as Senior Mode, anti-fraud protection, and a simplified desktop.

It features a built-in 6300mAh high-capacity battery, equipped with the Surge G1 power management chip, a cycle life of up to 1600 cycles, and ≥80% remaining capacity after each cycle. It supports 45W wired fast charging and has a Type-C interface.

The rear camera features a 13-megapixel high-definition main camera that supports positive/negative filter functions; the front camera is equipped with a beauty enhancement algorithm to optimize selfie imaging effects.

In other details, the REDMI 17 5G supports a 200% volume mode and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack to meet the listening and usage habits of users of different ages.

The REDMI 17 5G is now officially available for purchase, offering two storage configurations: 4+128GB (priced at 999 yuan) and 6+128GB (priced at 1199 yuan).
