Xiaomi’s Xuanjie O3 to debut in early September: Release date close to iPhone 18 Pro.

According to media reports, Apple is expected to hold a new product launch event on September 9, at which time the iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone Ultra will be officially unveiled.

Meanwhile, blogger Dingjiao Digital hinted that Xiaomi’s new generation self-developed chip, Xuanjie O3, will also be launched in early September, with its release date very close to that of Apple’s launch event.

It is reported that the Xuanjie O3 will be first equipped with Xiaomi’s new generation foldable screen MIX Fold 5. This phone will directly compete with Apple’s foldable screen iPhone Ultra, which will be launched at the same time. The two brands will stage a peak showdown in the foldable screen field.

Based on current information, the Xiaomi Mi 3 (Xiaomi’s flagship chip) is built on TSMC’s 3nm process and its CPU clock speed is expected to exceed 4GHz. Internally codenamed Lhasa, it is Xiaomi’s most powerful self-developed chip to date. Its launch marks a significant step forward for domestic manufacturers in breaking Qualcomm’s long-standing monopoly in the flagship processor market, contributing to the self-reliance and controllability of the consumer electronics supply chain.

Notably, the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 will also feature a self-developed AI large-scale model and the new Surge OS. Through deep integration of the Xuanjie chip and Surge OS, the coordinated scheduling of software and hardware will further unleash performance and AI computing power, helping Xiaomi solidify its underlying technological barriers, reduce reliance on external procurement, and enhance the product’s differentiated competitiveness.

At the same time, the successful implementation of the Xuanjie chip has also provided a significant boost to the growth of domestic semiconductor talent and upstream and downstream supporting industries. It has explored a commercialization path that can be referenced for domestically developed chips, encouraged more local companies to invest in the research and development of core hardware, and promoted the overall development of the domestic chip industry.

It is foreseeable that with the official launch of the Xuanjie O3, the voice of domestically produced chips in the high-end market will be further strengthened.
