1-inch is gone Huawei Pura 90 series review 1/1.28-inch new main camera

Blogger Digital Chat Station hinted that Huawei’s Pura 90 series is currently evaluating a new 1/1.28-inch ultra-large main camera, and the 1-inch main camera solution has not been seen yet.

The currently available Pura 80 Ultra is equipped with a 50-megapixel 1-inch ultra-high dynamic range camera, supporting an intelligent variable aperture of F1.6 to F4.0 and optical image stabilization. According to a leak from Digital Chat Station, the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra may not adopt the 1-inch design.

Previously, vivo ditched the 1-inch main camera on its flagship X200 Ultra for a 1/1.28-inch one. Digital Chat Station previously stated that 1-inch main cameras wouldn’t be widely adopted, with manufacturers prioritizing telephoto over main camera over ultra-wide-angle.

At present, telephoto has become the focus of major manufacturers. By reducing the size of the main camera and making room for the telephoto, better telephoto performance can be achieved.

As usual, Huawei’s Pura 90 series will debut in the first half of next year. This will be Huawei’s most powerful imaging flagship.
