A Closer Look at Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold: Official Unboxing

Samsung revealed its first ever tri-folding smartphone called the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 2. The launch is limited to certain regions at the moment but that hasn’t stopped Samsung from creating buzz. To build excitement the company has also shared an official unboxing video showing off the new device.

The video naturally highlights the smartphone as well as everything Samsung includes in the box. This package stands out because it offers more extras than you typically get with other Samsung phones. That makes sense, considering the phone is a premium product and costs around $2,500 in Korea.

A Detailed Look at the Galaxy Z TriFold Package

In the video, Samsung begins by showcasing the TriFold’s main feature: its large 10 inch foldable screen. The screen folds in two different spots allowing the device to collapse into a standard 6.5 inch phone. Samsung also points out how slim the TriFold becomes when fully opened measuring just 3.9mm at its thinnest point.

Samsung adds that the cover display features an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare. The only other Samsung phones that feature anti-reflective displays are the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Unlike the TriFold, these models use Corning’s Gorilla Armor glass instead of a standard film making their displays likely more durable and clearer.

Samsung continues the video by showing what comes inside the box. Along with the device users get a 45W super fast charging adapter and a Carbon Shield Case. The video also walks through several software tools made to take advantage of the TriFold’s structure. These include running three apps at once in portrait orientation and using Samsung DeX directly on the phone a feature that was previously limited to Galaxy tablets.

Samsung also takes a moment in the video to show the Carbon Standing Case. The case comes with a slim built-in kickstand, allowing users to watch videos or use the phone hands free. Despite its functionality it adds very little to the phone’s overall thickness. However, it’s worth noting that the case is not included with the phone and must be purchased separately.

The Galaxy Z TriFold will be available for purchase in Korea starting on December 12. It will then be launched in several other countries including China, Taiwan, Singapore and the UAE later in December. The United States release is planned for the first few months of 2026.
