according to The Elec, Samsung Display and LG Display have obtained approval to mass-produce OLED screens for the iPhone 16 Pro models.
This also proves that the iPhone 16 Pro is about to enter the production preparation stage.
It is reported that Samsung Display has previously obtained approval for mass production of screens for the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, and the Plus and Pro Max models are about to be approved.
It is worth noting that news revealed that the screen technology of iPhone 16 Pro has been further upgraded compared to iPhone 15 Pro. It will adopt border reduction structure (BRS) technology, which is narrowed to less than 1.5mm. This is Apple’s flagship phone with the narrowest border.
For comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro has a 1.5mm bezel and the iPhone 14 Pro has a 2.2mm bezel.
Thanks to the narrowed bezels, the screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro will increase from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max will increase to 6.9 inches while the body size remains basically unchanged.
In terms of core configuration, the iPhone 16 Pro series will also be equipped with the A18 Pro chip. This chip is built based on TSMC’s 3nm process and its performance will reach new heights.
