Apple has placed an order for BOE OLED displays! iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released next spring

Apple is expected to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE in the spring of 2025. This model will use an OLED screen for the first time and may be priced between US$459 and US$499, or approximately RMB 3,225 to 3,506.

Supply chain sources say Apple has begun ordering OLED screens from China’s BOE and South Korea’s LG for its upcoming iPhone SE 4.

In addition, media 9to5Mac recently shared more details about the iPhone SE 4.

It is understood that the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display, which is a significant improvement over the 4.7-inch LCD screen of the current model.

The iPhone SE 4 will adopt a design style similar to the iPhone 14, equipped with a notch screen and Face ID technology, canceling the traditional physical Home button, but without the Smart Island function.

The iPhone SE 4 will also be equipped with an A18 processor, built-in 8GB RAM, and support Apple Intelligence functions.

In terms of camera, the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with the same 48-megapixel main camera and 12-megapixel front-facing camera as the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, but without an ultra-wide-angle or telephoto lens.

It is worth mentioning that the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with Apple’s first self-developed 5G modem, code-named “Centauri”, which supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The new modem is expected to significantly reduce battery consumption, especially in low power mode.

However, as Apple’s first self-developed 5G baseband, it still has some shortcomings in terms of functionality, especially it does not support millimeter wave (mmWave) technology, which means that in certain high-frequency network environments, the 5G performance of the iPhone SE 4 may be limited.
