Apple is significantly expanding its iPhone product line: plans to release at least seven models by fall 2027.

According to multiple sources directly involved in Apple and its suppliers’ product development, Apple plans to significantly expand its smartphone product line over the next two years, potentially releasing at least seven new flagship models before the fall of 2027.

The main reason is that Apple releases new models in the first half of the year to boost sales and mitigate the impact of the off-season on its operations. For example, the iPhone 16e significantly improved Apple’s sales and financial results in the first half of this year.

Starting this year, Apple will maintain its strategy of releasing two iPhones a year to make up for the gap in new models in the first half of the year . In the future, it may even release the standard iPhone and the e-series together in the first half of the year.

The specific plan is as follows:

Spring 2026: iPhone 17e (name to be determined)

Fall 2026:

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

Foldable iPhone

Spring 2027:

iPhone 18, iPhone 18e (names to be determined)

iPhone Air 2 (name to be determined)

20th Anniversary Edition iPhone 20 (Name to be determined)

It should be noted that the 20th anniversary edition is not entirely certain to be released, but it is considered to be a revolutionary product similar to the 10th anniversary iPhone X.

The current plan is 3D under-display face recognition + under-display camera, which means that the 20th anniversary iPhone will achieve a true full-screen design and will be the first Apple phone with a true full-screen design without a notch or punch-hole.

In addition, the power button, volume buttons, operation buttons, and camera control buttons will all be replaced with solid-state buttons that provide vibration feedback, reducing the number of openings on the body.
