Apple’s Foldable iPhone Might Feature a Bigger Battery Than Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung used to be the top name in smartphones because of its powerful hardware. Recently, the company has been paying more attention to software features and how its devices work together rather than improving the hardware itself. Meanwhile, Apple, which traditionally uses less powerful hardware than Samsung, is rumored to be planning its first foldable iPhone which could come with a battery bigger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

iPhone Fold may come with a larger battery

According to tipster Yeux1122, Apple is reportedly testing a battery between 5,400mAh and 5,800mAh for its first foldable iPhone. This would make it significantly larger than the 4,400mAh battery used in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. Sources suggest that Apple is prepared to make the device slightly thicker in order to provide better battery life, showing that the company is prioritizing battery performance over slimness in this upcoming foldable device.

Samsung is reportedly planning to include a 5,000mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 8. This is an improvement over the 4,400mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 but it may still be smaller than the battery Apple is expected to use in its first foldable iPhone. Apple has a reputation of making its devices more efficient so it can often get more battery life. This suggest that the foldable iPhone could offer longer usage times and better overall battery performance than Samsung’s latest foldable.

It is reported that Apple’s first foldable iPhone could have a square shaped screen similar to the first Pixel Fold. It also comes with 24MP under display selfie camera and a smooth foldable display. On top of that, Apple is expected to have set of apps that are optimized for the foldable display so everything works smoothly.

Apple may launch its first foldable iPhone in 2027 and Samsung will need to improve its foldable phones to keep it up. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Z Fold 9 could include a larger battery of 6,000mAh or more, 60W fast charging and 25W Qi2 wireless charging. These improvements would help Samsung to compete with Apple’s new device while providing users with longer battery life and faster charging.
