DXO released Xiaomi Mi 15 Ultra’s imaging score: 153 points, 13th in the world

Xiaomi 15 Ultra was officially launched on March 3, and the evaluation agency DXOMARK has now announced the imaging scores of Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

The phone’s total image test score is 153 points, ranking 13th in the DXO global image ranking, tied with Google Pixel 8 Pro.

DXO said that the overall image quality of Xiaomi 15 Ultra is excellent, and it has the strongest zoom capability on the market. It is the best performing Xiaomi phone in the DXO test.

The following is DXO’s main evaluation:

The Xiaomi Mi 15 Ultra has a wide dynamic range, low noise, and nice colors, but there are some color casts, a narrow depth of field, which makes it difficult to keep all subjects in group photos in focus, and some instability between a series of consecutive photos.

Telephoto zoom is Xiaomi’s main strength, and in DXO’s testing, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra achieved the best telephoto zoom results to date, impressive at long-range telephoto settings, but the ultra-wide-angle results lagged behind other flagships in some test categories.

Video performance is also quite good, with good exposure, wide dynamic range, nice colors, and low noise; however, it can’t match the best competitors in terms of exposure and color adaptation during scene changes, autofocus, and texture.

It is worth mentioning that on the eve of the release of Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that Xiaomi 12S Ultra would not be sent to DXO for testing.

In response, DXO said that it always adheres to professional and impressive standards, and will purchase the Xiaomi 12S Ultra at its own expense for testing.

DXO also emphasized that “we do not sell scores or rankings.” Its business model is to sell laboratory and technical reports. The published scores depend only on the quality of the product itself and are not affected by whether the manufacturer chooses the evaluation service.

At that time, a former vice president of a mobile phone manufacturer commented on DXO’s response, saying, “It is indeed true. Points and rankings are not for sale. But ‘services’ are sold. If the feedback is adjusted, the score will be high and the ranking will also be high.”

As for the DXOMARK score, you can just take a look at it now. If you really want to buy a mobile phone, you still have to go to an offline store to touch and try it out. You will know whether it is suitable for you once you use it.
