Exynos 1680 Confirmed in Samsung Galaxy A57 Through Geekbench Listing

Samsung introduced the Galaxy A56 back in March, marking the latest addition to its popular mid-range lineup. Now the company is already developing the next model, the Galaxy A57. Today, a prototype of the phone showed up on Geekbench and the listing has revealed the chipset that will probably power it. The Galaxy A56 is currently available in two versions: the 128GB model with 8GB of RAM priced around $499.99 and the 256GB model with 8GB of RAM which costs about $549.99 or €294.99 depending on the region.

The chipset listed is Exynos 1680 which replaces the Exynos 1580 used in the Galaxy A56. Because this processor is in an early testing stage, the benchmark numbers shouldn’t be considered final or completely accurate. Even so, the device achieved a single-core score of 1,311 and a multi-core score of 4,347 in the Geekbench 6.5 tests for Android.

The Galaxy A57 that appeared on the benchmark had 12GB of RAM and was running Android 16. This matches the highest configuration of the Galaxy A56 which also offered 12GB of memory. When the A57 launches in early 2026, it is expected to come with Android 16 pre-installed.

The Exynos 1680 processor seems to have a total of eight CPU cores. It has one Prime core with a maximum speed of 2.91GHz for the most demanding tasks, four performance cores running up to 2.6GHz for general processing and three efficiency cores reaching 1.95GHz to save power during simple tasks. This setup allows the phone to stay fast while conserving battery life.

The main thing that separates the Exynos 1680 from the Exynos 1580 is its CPU configuration, as the newer chip has a different number of cores. The speeds for all the cores appear to remain the same. However, this information is based on a prototype so the final version could end up being a little different. We will have to wait for the official release from Samsung to know for sure.
