First day of sales: Scalpers claim iPhone 18 Pro Max prices are about to collapse!

The resale price of the Pro Max has dropped from NT$800 in the morning to NT$300, with one scalper saying, “The price will collapse if we wait any longer.”

The markup for Pro Max resellers is generally between 300 and 500 yuan. Consumers who buy popular items from scalpers will need to pay an additional premium of 700 to 800 yuan.

The regular color scheme is only worth about 100 yuan more to buy back, while the new “Burgundy” color is relatively sought after, with some scalpers offering a premium of about 300 yuan.

In stark contrast to the slight premium of the Pro Max, the iPhone 18 Pro sold below its official price on its first day of sale. Scalpers at the scene bluntly stated that “nobody wants the Pro version,” and some channels offered repurchase prices that were 100 yuan lower than the official price. Some scalpers even refused to accept the phones.

Pinduoduo’s 10 Billion Yuan Subsidy program shows that the 256GB version is priced as low as 9099 yuan after subsidies, a direct price reduction of 900 yuan compared to the official website price of 9999 yuan.

The most sought-after models are the 256GB and 512GB versions of the Pro Max, with the new Burgundy Red colorway commanding the highest premium, followed by Glacier Blue.

Demand for the more expensive 1TB and 2TB ultra-large capacity versions is limited, and some scalpers are charging the original price or even refusing to accept them.

The market has shrunk significantly this year, for four main reasons:

First, the official price increase across the entire Pro series starts at 1,000 yuan, with the 1TB version increasing by 2,500 yuan, making it the generation with the most significant price increase in the history of the Pro series.

Secondly, there is ample stock, with the official website’s shipping cycle taking only 11 to 15 business days, compared to 3 to 4 weeks last year;

Third, the iPhone Duo will be sold separately on October 23, which diverts the attention of high-end users;

Fourth, the hardware upgrades focus on internal capabilities such as 2nm chips, variable aperture, and heat dissipation, while the appearance changes are limited.
