Foldable iPhone production to start this fall! Confirmed to be equipped with a 7.76-inch hole-free screen

Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote in his latest article that the foldable iPhone will start production this fall, expected to be at the end of Q3 or early Q4.

However, he revealed that there are still many parts that have not been finalized, such as the most critical shaft part.

What can be confirmed at present is that the screen specifications will be provided by Samsung, with an annual production capacity of approximately 7-8 million pieces.

Previously, Mark Gurman revealed that Apple will name this folding screen iPhone Ultra, adopting a clamshell design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series and a dual-screen solution.

Among them, the inner screen is 7.76 inches, with a resolution of 2713×1920, adopts a hole-free design, and is equipped with an under-screen front camera.

The external screen is 5.49 inches, with a resolution of 2088×1422, and uses a hole-punch screen solution.

It is an open secret in the industry that Apple has been developing folding screen technology for many years. However, due to the limitations of creases and other effects, it has not yet launched mass-produced models.

However, Apple has been working on technological breakthroughs and has applied for many patents related to crease control. It seems to be almost ready now.

Like most foldable screen phones on the market, the iPhone Ultra will use UTG glass to cover the screen surface, with a light transmittance of over 90%, which can bring users a better viewing experience.

Guo Mingchi previously revealed that Apple’s foldable screen production line will continue to iterate, and the second foldable screen iPhone is expected to be mass-produced in the second half of 2027.
