Huawei: HarmonyOS terminal devices surpass 40 million!

Fast Technology reported that Huawei Chairman Liang Hua publicly stated that the number of HarmonyOS terminal devices has exceeded 40 million.

In his speech at the 2026 Guangdong Provincial High-Quality Development Conference, Liang Hua, Chairman of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., revealed that the HarmonyOS ecosystem is currently moving from being usable to being easy to use. The number of terminal devices equipped with HarmonyOS 5 and HarmonyOS 6 has exceeded 40 million, with more than 75,000 native applications and cloud services available. It has also been widely used in industries such as finance, power, energy, transportation, and communications.

In addition, 43 mainstream industry models are currently pre-trained on Ascend, more than 200 open-source models are adapted to the Ascend ecosystem, and more than 6,000 solutions have been implemented.

“Our total sales revenue for 2025 exceeded RMB 880 billion. Going forward, Huawei will continue to focus on strengthening its core competitiveness, adhere to the path of high-quality development based on quality, and strive to provide competitive products and services to global customers,” Liang Hua said.

Previously, a netizen posted, “The number of pure HarmonyOS installations has exceeded 40 million, another milestone, congratulations! Previously, we criticized China’s technology for lacking chips and soul, but now we have made great breakthroughs in chips, and now we have soul too. Keep it up, we can’t always be held back by others, we must stand up.”

A report by market research firm Counterpoint Research showed that Huawei’s HarmonyOS captured 18% of the Chinese mobile operating system market, firmly surpassing Apple’s iOS and maintaining its position as the second largest operating system in China.

As for Huawei’s self-developed processors, needless to say, the Kirin, Ascend, Kunpeng and other series are being steadily updated, and their overall strength is still constantly improving.

For Yu Chengdong, the boasts he made in the past are slowly coming true one by one. What do you all think?
