According to a recent report by MacRumors, Apple is set to introduce a new physical photography capture button in the iPhone 16 series. This button, located below the power key, is unlike any previous iPhone buttons and will support both touch and press operations.
Users will be able to utilize this new button for zooming in and out by sliding left and right on it. Moreover, the button is designed to recognize pressure, enabling a two-stage shutter operation similar to traditional cameras. A light press will focus the camera, while a heavier press will act as the shutter.
The addition of this button is expected to make the iPhone’s camera functions more significant and convenient, potentially including a one-touch operation to open the camera.
In addition to the new button, the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera setup is anticipated to undergo a major upgrade. For the first time, it will feature two 48-megapixel sensors, upgrading the current 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens to a 48-megapixel high-definition lens. This upgrade is not only expected to enhance photo clarity but also improve light intake and night photography performance for the ultra-wide-angle lens, significantly improving the detail and quality of the photos.
Furthermore, both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are slated to be equipped with periscope telephoto lenses, with improvements also expected in the telephoto capabilities of the smaller screen models.
