There is still a month to go before Apple’s fall conference, and the iPhone 17 has not yet been officially unveiled, but copycat manufacturers have already taken the lead in launching the “iPhone 17 Pro copycat phone.”
Sonny Dickson recently shared actual photos of this copycat phone on social media. Although its appearance is similar to the rumored iPhone 17 Pro, there are many flaws in the details, which is shocking.
From the appearance, the camera module on the back of this copycat phone extends to the right, occupying nearly one-third of the area above the back cover, which is almost identical to the rumored design. The “Spirit Island” is also replicated on the front, which looks quite “Apple-like”.
However, a closer look reveals many problems. First, this copycat phone runs on the Android system, not the latest iOS 26. Its interface has been forcibly changed to the iOS 18 style through a customized UI. The only thing related to iOS 26 may be a wallpaper directly applied from a picture circulating on the Internet.
The hardware problems are even more obvious. The screen display is very grainy and the resolution is obviously low, which is a huge gap from a true flagship phone.
The chin frame is also exaggeratedly thick, completely lacking the narrow frame texture that Apple pursues. In addition, the power button on the right is disproportionate, too large and protruding significantly.
The launch timing of this copycat phone is very rare. Usually, copycat manufacturers will copy the real phone after it is released, but this time they obviously started production in advance based on “media revelations” and “leaked CAD drawings”, which is equivalent to taking a gamble before the real phone is born.
