MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 GPU delivers aggressive performance

Big news has come out for MediaTek’s highly anticipated next-generation flagship chip Dimensity 9500. Blogger i冰宇 revealed that the GPU capabilities of Dimensity 9500 will usher in an epic improvement , with energy efficiency increased by more than 40% compared to the previous generation, and peak performance is extremely strong.

What’s even more exciting is that its ray tracing performance will surge by more than 40%, and it is expected that the ray tracing frame rate of mobile games will break the 100-frame mark for the first time in history this year.

This news is undoubtedly a boost for mobile game enthusiasts. iIce Universe also revealed that MediaTek has fully unleashed the performance potential of ARM’s latest GPU IP, Immortalis-Dragons (also known as Drage), enabling the Dimensity 9500 to achieve a huge leap in graphics processing.

It has been previously revealed that the Dimensity 9500’s GPU adopts a brand-new micro-architecture design, which aims to optimize ray tracing performance and reduce power consumption, and the pre-computing power will reach 100TOPS.

A significant improvement in energy efficiency is also a major highlight of the Dimensity 9500. In addition to an estimated 40% increase in GPU energy efficiency, the CPU will also adopt a more radical all-large core architecture, utilizing Arm’s latest Travis super-large cores. This will boost IPC (instructions per clock cycle) performance while achieving a significant upgrade in overall energy efficiency. Leaked reports indicate a significant increase in single-core performance, with impressive benchmark scores.

With the Dimensity 9500’s significant advancements in ray tracing performance and energy efficiency, the mobile gaming market may see the arrival of truly widespread adoption of high-frame-rate ray tracing. Previous models powered by the Dimensity 9400 have already demonstrated near-full-frame performance in ray tracing games. If the even more powerful Dimensity 9500 can achieve 100fps ray tracing, it will undoubtedly provide users with an unprecedented immersive gaming experience.

MediaTek has adopted a more radical all-large core architecture for the Dimensity 9500. This chip not only offers comprehensive upgrades in CPU and GPU performance, but also boasts breakthroughs in energy efficiency and ray tracing, which are worth anticipating. Flagship phones equipped with this chip are expected to debut in the second half of this year, potentially redefining the mobile gaming performance landscape.
