Neo12 to Debut with 2K+ 185Hz Super Crown Screen

Fast Technology reported that iQOO announced that the Visionox × iQOO × Tsinghua University Screen Technology Communication Conference will be held on October 14 at 19:00. The iQOO Neo12 will be the first to be equipped with a 2K 185Hz ultra-high refresh rate screen based on pTSF technology.

pTSF stands for phosphorescence-assisted thermally activated sensitized fluorescence, which is a fourth-generation OLED light-emitting technology jointly developed by Visionox and Tsinghua University.

Official data shows that screens using the high-efficiency pTSF solution reduce power consumption by more than 12% and increase lifespan by 15%; the wide color gamut pTSF solution expands the color gamut from the traditional DCI-P3 to the Adobe and BT.2020 standards, achieving professional design-grade color accuracy, further reducing power consumption by 6% and increasing lifespan by 20%.

Running 2K resolution and 185Hz simultaneously places high demands on the screen. 2K resolution requires a large amount of data to be refreshed, while 185Hz refresh rate requires the capacitor to be charged quickly and repeatedly, which tests the load capacity of both the screen and the driver chip.

In terms of performance configuration, the iQOO Neo12 is equipped with a dual-core solution consisting of the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra processor and the self-developed e-sports chip Q3, combined with the new generation Monster super core engine.

In terms of heat dissipation, the new phone is the first in the Neo series to introduce the Ice Dome active cooling fan, which, together with the new Ice Dome air duct design, upgrades the passive heat dissipation to active air cooling, which can reduce frequency throttling in high load scenarios and maintain stable frame rates during long gaming sessions.

In terms of battery life, the Neo12 has a built-in 9000mAh Blue Ocean large battery and supports 100W wired fast charging.
