Nubia Neo 5 Max Makes its Debut at MWC Shanghai: 7.5-inch Giant Screen Rivals Small Tablets

Fast Technology reported that MWC Shanghai officially opened on June 24th, with many mobile phone brands showcasing their products. A blogger noticed that Nubia displayed a distinctive large-screen phone at MWC – the Nubia Neo 5 Max.

The phone features a 7.5-inch LCD screen with a 1.5K resolution, offering a visual experience close to that of a small tablet. In terms of core specifications, the Nubia Neo 5 Max is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip, has a built-in 7000mAh high-capacity battery, and comes pre-installed with Android 16. The overall configuration emphasizes multimedia and battery life.

In terms of industrial design, the Nubia Neo 5 Max features a vertically arranged rear camera setup, with each camera having an octagonal design, making it highly recognizable. The back panel incorporates World Cup-themed elements, resulting in a very distinctive overall style full of sporty and competitive spirit.

It is understood that the Nubia Neo 5 Max is primarily targeted at overseas markets and will not be sold in China. The phone was previously showcased at MWC in Barcelona. Its oversized design makes it significantly larger than most flagship models. While it can be held with one hand, the screen width makes it quite difficult to perform various interactions with one hand in actual use.

Currently, most mainstream mobile phone screen sizes are kept below 7 inches. However, reports indicate that three brands have begun testing 7-inch large-screen models, covering both mid-range and flagship product lines. As the number of 7-inch large-screen phones gradually increases, this trend is reminiscent of the market performance of the Xiaomi Max series in its early days.

Whether this “giant screen revival” can truly tap into the mass market depends on whether the final pricing and actual user experience are enough to convince users to buy it.
