The Poco M6 has recently been unveiled in India, marking its global debut alongside the Oppo A59. This new smartphone is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6100+ SoC and offers a range of RAM options, including 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. Additionally, it features a RAM expansion capability that can add up to an extra 8GB.
The device boasts a 6.74-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. It supports a 90 Hz refresh rate and offers a peak brightness of up to 600 nits. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass, although the specific version of the glass is not mentioned.
For storage, the Poco M6 comes with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and it also supports microSD expansion. The phone is designed to accommodate dual-SIM usage and includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack. For security, it features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Powering the Poco M6 is a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 18W charging. The phone is equipped with a 50 MP main rear camera and is both dust and splash-resistant. It runs on Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top. The Poco M6 will be available in two colors: Galactic Black and Orion Blue, with the first sale scheduled for December 26.
Interestingly, the Poco M6 appears to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 13C 5G, which was released last week. The two devices share many similarities, though the Poco M6 has distinct design elements specific to the Poco brand.
In terms of pricing, the Poco M6 is set at INR 10,499 for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version is priced at INR 11,499, while the top-spec model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is available for INR 13,499. However, a special bank offer allows customers to purchase the Poco M6 for just INR 9,499, making it one of the most affordable 5G-capable smartphones in India.
