REDMI K90 Ultra enters the fan-cooled competition with aggressive performance.

REDMI typically releases its K-series flagship iteration in the second half of the year, followed by the K-series Ultra version in the middle of the following year. However, according to the latest leaks, the release date of this year’s K90 Ultra will be significantly brought forward, with the new product potentially making its official debut as early as April.

Compared to its predecessor, the K80 Ultra, the biggest change in the K90 Ultra is its active cooling fan. This also marks it as Xiaomi’s first model to support active cooling technology, with its performance release strategy aligning with that of professional gaming products.

To achieve efficient active cooling, the phone not only needs to embed a precision micro-fan, but also requires a completely redesigned air intake and exhaust system. By forcing air convection, the system can quickly remove heat from the core motherboard area, achieving rapid cooling.

This approach represents a significant leap in efficiency compared to traditional passive cooling. Under sustained high load operation, active cooling can more effectively suppress temperature rise, allowing flagship chips to maintain their peak performance frequency for extended periods without being hampered by overheating-induced frequency throttling.

In terms of core performance, the REDMI K90 Ultra will be equipped with the Dimensity 9500 flagship platform. Notably, this is the only Dimensity flagship in the K90 series, and also the industry’s first Dimensity 9500 flagship phone to support active cooling technology.

Besides its powerful cooling and performance, the K90 Ultra also boasts highly competitive specifications. It will be equipped with a top-tier screen supporting a 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate, providing hardcore gamers with a smoother visual experience.

The battery life is equally impressive. The new phone is expected to have a massive 8500mAh battery and support 100W wired fast charging. This huge power reserve, combined with an efficient charging solution, should completely eliminate users’ battery anxiety.

Furthermore, this phone doesn’t skimp on details, supporting high-level dust and water resistance and featuring ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint technology. Both unlocking speed and wet-hand operation will represent a significant generational improvement over previous models.
