Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Surfaces on Geekbench with a Yet-to-Be-Released MediaTek Chip

The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro has recently appeared on Geekbench, offering the first hints about the new MediaTek chipsets that may be on the way. The model number listed on Geekbench, 2602BRT18C, matches the same number that appeared in a 3C certification a couple of weeks ago. This suggests that the device undergoing testing could be the very same one that was recently certified.

The upcoming smartphone is rumored to come with the Dimensity 9500e chipset. Benchmark tests on Geekbench show that the phone’s motherboard is called “dash.” The CPU of this chipset contains eight cores, organized for different purposes: there is one very powerful core running at 3.73GHz, three cores that run at a medium speed of 3.30GHz, and four energy-efficient cores that operate at 2.40GHz. For graphics performance, the phone relies on an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU. This GPU normally runs at 339MHz but can boost up to 622MHz when the phone requires more graphical power such as during gaming or heavy app use.

The CPU speeds and GPU mentioned match the ones found in the Dimensity 9400+. That chipset features a total of eight CPU cores arranged in a specific way: one high-performance Cortex-X925 core at 3.73GHz, three mid-performance Cortex-X4 cores at 3.30GHz, and four energy-efficient Cortex-A720 cores at 2.40GHz. This connection makes sense because the Dimensity 9400e was basically a rebadged version of the 9300+ and following the same logic, the Dimensity 9500e should be built on the foundation of the 9400+.

Putting the chipset aside for a moment, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is rumored to come with a very large 9,000mAh battery, which is capable of supporting fast charging at 100W. The device is expected to feature an LTPS OLED screen that offers “1.5K” resolution, which should deliver crisp and vibrant images. For security, it may feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the screen. Other potential specifications include a metal frame for strength and stereo speakers for better audio output.

Xiaomi has also been teasing a new Redmi Turbo 5 Max, and there will be a standard, or vanilla, version of the phone as well. The Max model is expected to be priced around CNY 2,500, which is about $360, €305 or ₹32,500. You can take a look at the official renders to see what the phone might look like.

The first phone in the Turbo 4 series was released on January 2, 2025, but that launch date is now in the past. The more advanced Turbo 4 Pro was launched in late April. Using this timeline as a reference, the Turbo 5 series is likely to be released around the same time of year, or maybe even earlier, especially given the number of benchmark listings already showing up on Geekbench.
