Released July 22nd! Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra Ready, Leaked Images Show No Crease on Screen

Samsung will officially launch the new top-of-the-line flagship in its foldable screen series, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22.

As the first high-end model in Samsung’s foldable screen family to be labeled with the “Ultra” suffix, it continues the series’ classic book-style folding design while achieving substantial upgrades in the core dimensions that users perceive most strongly, such as screen, battery, imaging, and charging. The following is a complete preview of the information based on the latest leaked final data before the launch event.

Unlike the standard Z Fold 8, which features a new widescreen design, the Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra retains the slim body proportions that Fold series users are already very familiar with. The external screen is 6.5 inches, and the internal screen reaches 8 inches when fully unfolded. The thickness of the unfolded body is further narrowed to only 4.1mm, and the overall thinness and lightness of the device is significantly improved compared to the previous generation.

The screen is the core focus of this new product upgrade. The internal screen resolution of the Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra has been increased from 2184×1968 in the Fold 7 to 2504×2256, significantly enhancing the pixel density and sharpness of the image. The peak brightness of the screen has also jumped to 3000 nits.

The previous generation Fold 7 had a peak brightness of only 2600 nits, and the screen surface had a new special anti-glare coating, which greatly improved the visibility performance under strong outdoor light.

The crease control, which is most anticipated by foldable screen users, has also seen a new breakthrough. Samsung will most likely use a new special material called Flex Titanium in this new phone, which not only greatly reduces the visibility of screen creases, but also improves the durability of the hinge and screen. The crease problem is expected to be optimized to date.

In terms of core configuration, the Z Fold 8 Ultra is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor. In terms of the imaging system, the ultra-wide-angle lens has been significantly upgraded from 12 million pixels to 50 million pixels, while the original 200 million pixel main camera and 10 million pixel 3x optical zoom telephoto lens remain unchanged. The new phone has a built-in 5000mAh silicon-carbon battery and comes standard with a 45W wired fast charging solution.

As for the pricing information that ordinary consumers are most concerned about, the starting price of the Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to be $2,099, which is about RMB 14,200, $100 higher than the initial price of the previous generation Z Fold 7.

The 256GB and 512GB versions come standard with 12GB of RAM. If you want 16GB of RAM, you must choose the 1TB storage version. The estimated price of the top-of-the-line version is as high as $2,599, which is about RMB 17,600.

Leaked images of the Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra show the crease almost invisible; it remains to be seen how it will perform in real life.
