Recent reports from South Korean news outlets suggest that Samsung is preparing to launch its latest Galaxy S26 series on February 25. The company is expected to host a special unpacked event in San Francisco for this launch. Confirming this information well known tech leaker Evan Blass (evleaks) mentioned that customers can expect the Galaxy S26 phones to be available for sale in stores by the beginning of March.
In other words, the Galaxy S26 is expected to come out roughly a month later than the Galaxy S25 series which had its official announcement on January 22, 2025. According to industry speculation, the reason for this February launch delay is reportedly Samsung’s last minute decision to cancel the Galaxy S26 Edge and replace it with new model called the Galaxy S26+.
The Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra are expected to come with slightly higher prices in some countries compared to the previous Galaxy S25 models. One recent report indicates that the Galaxy S26 might be priced KRW 44,000 ($30) to KRW 88,000 ($60) higher than the S25. However, this price increase may not apply in other regions, such as the United States where Samsung is believed to keep the starting prices of the S26 series the same as last year’s models.
