Surge OS 2 is now available for Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 4/Flip, K70/K70E

Xiaomi officially announced that starting today, Xiaomi MIX Fold 4/Flip, REDMI K70/K70E will begin to push the Surge OS 2 system.

Xiaomi Surge OS 2 is equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed HyperCore, which features lightness, smoothness, super performance and ultra-low power consumption.

The system brings a new self-developed micro-architecture scheduler, which truly splits the “number of instruction execution cycles” and “number of memory access delay cycles” of task execution from the chip side.

Through an integrated frequency modulation mechanism and intelligent allocation of cache and DDR resources, the CPU idle ratio is greatly reduced by 19%.

By reconstructing the graphics rendering pipeline, Xiaomi Pengpai OS 2 also brings global joint rendering technology. With the support of graphics heterogeneous computing, the completion time of the same image function is shortened from the previous 576ms to 48ms, and the efficiency is increased by 12 times.

Judging from the current large amount of user feedback, the smoothness of Surge OS 2 has been greatly improved.

It should be noted that after the upgrade is completed, the system will automatically recompile the application to match a more efficient memory management mechanism and operating efficiency.

Background compilation will occupy a certain amount of CPU resources, which may cause a short-term increase in power consumption and heat generation.

Xiaomi officials previously introduced that the background compilation process only needs to be completed once, and usually the phone can reach the optimal state of stable power consumption within about 3 days of normal use.
