The three major operators will restart eSIM: Huawei Mate XTs tri-fold will be the first to be launched

Today, according to Sina Technology, the eSIM, which has been suspended for two years, will be fully restarted.

It is understood that in 2023, the three major operators successively issued announcements to suspend accepting applications for eSIM watch one number dual terminal services and independent eSIM cards.

The operator’s reason is that the service is being maintained and upgraded, and users who have already subscribed can continue to use it, but once cancelled they cannot subscribe again.

People in the eSIM industry chain analyzed that there are still some interest issues that need to be resolved between the three major operators, such as the problem of switching operators at will.

He revealed that the three major operators are expected to reopen in the second half of this year, and they are formulating some industry norms to address these issues.

Previously, there were reports from multiple sources that domestic operators are conducting internal testing of eSIM in order to ensure the smooth launch of the iPhone 17 Air.

At the same time, a blogger revealed that Huawei’s Mate XT small iteration model may be the first to launch eSIM commercialization, and may be released as early as the third quarter.

It is reported that the small iteration of Huawei Mate XT will be named Huawei Mate XTs, becoming the world’s second three-fold screen model.

eSIM, or embedded SIM card, is a technology that embeds the traditional SIM card directly into the device chip. It does not require users to insert a physical SIM card, which can save a lot of internal space. This is very important for folding screens and thin and light models.
