Trump Organization removes “Made in the USA” slogan from T1 phone: key parameters also lowered

The Trump Organization recently removed the slogan “To be Made in the USA” for its new T1 smartphone, a move that stems from doubts about whether the phone can be produced in the United States at its current price.

Earlier this month, the Trump Organization released a gold smartphone called the T1, priced at $499. At the time of the launch, a banner on the company’s website read: “Our ‘Made in the USA’ T1 phone is now available for pre-order.” However, the description of where the phone was made has now been completely removed.

The Trump Organization is an American conglomerate founded in 1923 by U.S. President Donald Trump’s father and grandmother.

Trump himself is the former president of the company. After starting his first term in 2017, he handed over the management of the group to his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump to avoid conflicts of interest, but he still owns the group.

Today, the official website of the T1 phone has been changed to claim that the product has “American proud design” and is “mass-produced in the United States.” However, it is still unclear whether this wording means that it is truly made in the United States.

When the T1 was first released, some experts pointed out that the device was likely to be manufactured by a third-party company in another country. The United States does not currently have a mature smartphone manufacturing supply chain. Even if it did, many components would still need to be imported from overseas.

However, a spokesman for the Trump Organization still insisted that the phone would be made in the United States.

It is worth noting that in addition to the modification of the production location publicity, some functions and parameters of this phone on the T1 official website have also changed.

In the initial announcement, the T1 phone’s official website claimed that it would be equipped with a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen. But now, this parameter has been lowered to a 6.25-inch AMOLED display. In addition, the 12GB of RAM mentioned earlier has also been deleted.

Trump has always regarded the promotion of the return of technology industry manufacturing to the United States as an important policy goal. He has also repeatedly criticized Apple’s supply chain arrangements and urged it to return the production of products such as the iPhone to the United States.
