Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro To Come With Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Xiaomi is reportedly in the process of developing the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro models. These upcoming smartphones are expected to be among the first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor.

Potential Inclusion of Periscope Telephoto Lens in Xiaomi 15 Pro

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is speculated to possibly include a periscope telephoto lens, a feature currently under evaluation by the Xiaomi team. This inclusion would mark a significant advancement in the phone’s camera capabilities compared to its predecessors.

Camera Evolution from Xiaomi 14 Pro

In the Xiaomi 14 Pro, Xiaomi equipped the device with a 75mm floating telephoto lens, which did not include a periscope telephoto lens. The 75mm floating telephoto lens was designed based on professional camera lens structures, featuring a unique floating focusing lens group divided into two groups that can move internally. This design allows for a focusing range from 10cm to infinity, enabling the camera to capture both distant and close-up shots effectively.

Core Configurations: Processor and Architecture

The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are set to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 mobile platform. This chipset is manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process, making it Qualcomm’s first 3nm smartphone chip.

Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 will not use Arm’s standard architecture but will instead adopt a self-developed Nuvia architecture. Qualcomm acquired the chip architecture design company Nuvia in 2021, founded by former Apple A-series processor engineers.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen4 is expected to feature Nuvia Phoenix performance cores and Nuvia Phoenix M cores, indicating a significant shift from Arm’s standard architecture and promising unprecedented changes in CPU core design.

Anticipation for the New Xiaomi Models

The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are highly anticipated for their advanced processor technology and potential camera enhancements. The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 and the possible addition of a periscope telephoto lens in the Pro model are particularly noteworthy, signaling Xiaomi’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology in its devices.

The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are shaping up to be groundbreaking additions to Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup, with state-of-the-art processors and potentially innovative camera technology. These developments reflect Xiaomi’s ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of smartphone capabilities.
