Xiaomi 15 To Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Which Goes Into Mass Production In September

According to the latest leaked information, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 mobile platform is already in tests and it’s likely to debut first in the Xiaomi 15 series.

The leaked information was suggested by the famous Chinese leaker on Weibo, according to the details Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is making good progress in internal testing and is expected to enter mass production as early as September.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 mobile platform, for the first time, adopts TSMC’s 3nm process and will feature a CPU core architecture developed independently by Nuvia, rather than using Arm’s public architecture. This change is anticipated to significantly enhance both CPU and GPU performance.

The new device likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is the Xiaomi 15 series. Xiaomi has consistently pursued a strategy of releasing both straight and curved flagship models, and the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to continue this trend, likely securing the debut of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Some specifications of the Xiaomi 15 have already been leaked, including a 6.36-inch Huaxing straight screen with a resolution of 2760*1200, equivalent to 1.5K, and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. The screen supports the latest 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate, which allows for refresh rate adjustments in different screen zones, saving 15-20% in IC power consumption.

Additionally, the new screen will maintain a very narrow bezel design on all four sides, with an estimated border width of around 1.61mm, and will achieve a physical equal-width bezel.

Notably, this year, Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass was only used in the Pro version. Next year, it is highly likely to be extended to the standard version. The Dragon Crystal Glass has a Vickers hardness of 860 HV0.025, compared to the iPhone 15 series’ Super Ceramic Crystal Glass at 814 HV0.025 and Huawei’s Kunlun 2nd Generation Glass at 830 HV0.025.
