Xiaomi is already developing the successor to its current flagship series: The Xiaomi 16 Pro is set to debut in China by Q4 2025, according to internal sources. The global version will likely follow in early 2026.
The device’s highlight will be a newly developed periscope telephoto camera featuring Sony’s LYTIA sensor. This not only offers a larger sensor area but also a wider aperture range—ideal for sharp close-ups even in low light.
Additionally, Xiaomi is adopting a flat AMOLED display with innovative LIPO technology (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding). This method compresses display components under low pressure, resulting in ultra-thin bezels. The outcome: a near-borderless design with maximum screen area. Compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 Pro (which used Sony’s IMX858 sensor), the 16 Pro excels in both optics and display.
Whether the phone will feature other upgrades like improved battery life or fast charging remains unclear.
