Today Ming-Chi Kuo, the top Apple whistleblower, brought news about Xiaomi’s new flagship: Xiaomi 16 Pro is expected to be released at the end of the year, and will use a metal middle frame manufactured by Polylite using 3D printing technology. This is the first time that Xiaomi has used a 3D printed middle frame.

It is reported that using 3D printing to produce mobile phones can achieve a hollow design, thereby further reducing the weight of the body without sacrificing the structural strength of the mobile phone’s middle frame, while also improving the heat dissipation performance, killing two birds with one stone.

The two current models in the Xiaomi 15 series have received unanimous praise for their feel, especially the unique rear middle frame surround design, which makes the transition of straight edges very natural and smooth.

Especially the small-screen version. After the great success of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14, friendly competitors have also followed up with small straight-screen flagships this time, but Xiaomi 15 is clearly ahead in appearance and feel with its excellent design.

It is expected that the Xiaomi 16 series will continue in this direction, focusing on appearance and feel, so 3D printing the middle frame will also be a very important step.

As for the performance, there is no need to say much. It will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850), upgraded to TSMC N3P process, which further improves energy efficiency and transistor density compared to N3E.

Combined with the strength of the Oryon CPU architecture, performance and energy efficiency are expected to rise again, making the Xiaomi 16 series a balanced flagship that takes into account both feel and performance.
