Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Launch Date and Design Finally Announced

Last week, Xiaomi gave a hint that their new high end phone, the 17 Ultra would be released in China sometime this week. Today, the company has provided more information revealing the official launch date, the design of the phone and all the color options that will be offered.

Xiaomi has confirmed that its new flagship phone, the 17 Ultra, will be officially unveiled in China on December 25. This news was shared through a post on the social media platform Weibo. Along with the launch date, Xiaomi also revealed the phone’s rear design and the colors it will be available in.

It will be available in three different color options including a brand new Starry Green variant. The other two colors that will be available are White and Black as revealed in the teasers. The teasers also reveal that the device will have a triple camera setup on the rear, highlighting its photography capabilities.

The Starry Green version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has tiny mineral particles on its back panel which give it a shiny metallic finish. In addition to this, the company revealed that the phone will feature a flat display, segmented volume buttons for easier use and a body measuring 8.29mm in thickness.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to be launched with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. According to reports, it may include a 1-inch type main rear camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and upgraded Leica optics for enhanced image quality. The phone is also expected to be available internationally in the near future. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra which comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at around $1,352.23 or €1,139.00.
