Xiaomi MIX 5 is coming! Released in Q3: Magnetic lens design + O2 smart ring.

Fast Technology reported: “A modular phone with magnetic attachment and a foldable screen, both with a high degree of self-development, and the test even cut right-angled edges.”

Among them, the magnetic modular phone is expected to be the Xiaomi MIX 5, and the foldable screen phone is the MIX Fold 5. The blogger hinted that the new phone will be released in Q3 and is expected to be equipped with the Xuanjie O2 chip.

It’s worth noting that the Xiaomi MIX 5 uses a magnetic lens design, which corroborates a previous post from another blogger that Xiaomi’s magnetic lens has already entered mass production.

The Xiaomi 15 series once showcased a magnetic lens, which Xiaomi called a “modular optical system.” The phone is equipped with a magnetically detachable lens, using a custom M4/3 sensor and an aspherical lens group to deliver a full 100-megapixel resolution, an equivalent 35mm focal length, and a large f/1.4 aperture.

The F1.4 aperture makes it a night scene marvel, and the 35mm prime lens has a perspective closer to the human eye, making it suitable for portraits and street photography, with a more natural bokeh effect.

Most importantly, Xiaomi’s modular optical system supports near-light-speed laser transmission, with speeds up to 10Gbps, and supports lossless RAW information transmission.

It can seamlessly call up Xiaomi AISP, driven by a large on-device model for computational photography, bringing computing power that traditional cameras cannot match, unlocking UltraRAW super digital film, and bringing an exaggerated 16 stops of dynamic range.

No complicated wiring or pairing is required, and there is no need to carry an extra battery. The lens is also small and easy to carry.

Compared to the teleconverters and other solutions currently used by competitors, Xiaomi’s modular optical system is a product that will truly revolutionize mobile phone photography effects and experience.

Even with the support of AI algorithms, the actual user experience will far exceed that of traditional M4/3 cameras.
