Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 Newly Leaked Information Unveiled Some Key Features

A new leak focusing on the details of Xiaomi’s next mobile device unveils the features and details of the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 4. This device, internally designated as model N8 and codenamed “Ruyi” — a term denoting a traditional Chinese artifact symbolizing good fortune — is set to redefine the landscape of foldable smartphones with its cutting-edge features and design.

The device’s processor is SM8650 and the model numbers 2405CPX3DG/2405CPX3DC. Slated for release in May 2024, the MIX Fold 4 will be powered by the third-generation Snapdragon 8 processor similar to the earlier leaked Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip, marking a significant leap in performance.

Design and Innovation

The MIX Fold 4 continues Xiaomi’s legacy of innovation with a horizontal folding screen that incorporates a new main camera technology and a design philosophy that builds upon its predecessor’s foundation. Notably, the device aims for a more refined and lightweight form factor, enhancing user experience.

Satellite Communication Capability

A standout feature of the MIX Fold 4 is its expected support for satellite communication, positioning Xiaomi as the second foldable screen manufacturer to offer this technology following Huawei. This feature underscores Xiaomi‘s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone technology, ensuring users stay connected even in the most remote locations or during critical situations where traditional network coverage is compromised.

Previous Generation’s Legacy

The predecessor, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, garnered positive reviews for its robust build and innovative design, particularly its proprietary “dragonbone hinge” mechanism that contributed to a slimmer, more durable device. Despite recent controversies surrounding the technology’s originality, Xiaomi has defended its innovation, highlighting the dragon bone hinge’s patent granted in January 2021, well before similar claims by competitors.

Expectations

The anticipation for the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 is high, with the tech community eager to see how Xiaomi will further innovate in the foldable smartphone market. The device’s satellite communication feature, in particular, is seen as a significant step forward, offering new possibilities for connectivity and functionality in foldable smartphones.
