Xiaomi’s new patent is released: the upper and lower screens are detachable

The patent application was submitted on March 31, 2023 and published on October 1, 2024. The applicant is “Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd.” and the inventor is Gao Yuan.

According to the patent description, the mobile phone has many advantages, such as simple structure, low manufacturing cost, small size, large screen and easy assembly.

The patent application also includes sketches of the phone’s design and its detachable mechanism.

The overall design of the phone described in the patent looks similar to the Xiaomi MIX Flip folding phone. The back of the phone is equipped with 3 sensors and 1 LED flash, and the power button and volume key are located on the right side of the phone.

This phone is designed as a small folding screen in its normal state. However, its uniqueness lies in that it can be disassembled into two screens based on the existing folding basis , but it is not clear how this is achieved.

In one of the patent drawings, the phone can also rotate the upper half of the screen like the Nokia 6260 .
