According to blogger Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be officially announced on Monday, according to Fast Technology on December 13.

As is customary, Xiaomi’s flagship phones are usually released on Thursdays. Based on the pre-launch hype schedule, the launch event may take place on December 25th.

This should be the first new phone with the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra imaging flagship before the new year, and also the only one-inch flagship on the same platform.

In terms of specific specifications, the front features a return to a flat screen design, employs super pixel technology, and achieves a clarity exceeding that of traditional 2K resolution with a power consumption of less than 1.5K. It also supports ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanning.

It has a built-in battery of nearly 7000mAh, supports 100W wired fast charging + 80W wireless fast charging, and retains IP68 dust and water resistance and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The imaging system has been upgraded to a triple-camera setup. The main camera uses OmniVision’s new flagship sensor, the OV50X, which features a 1-inch super-large sensor size, 1.6μm pixel size, dual analog gain (DAG) HDR, a dynamic range of up to 16EV, and provides a single-exposure HDR of nearly 110dB.

In addition, it is equipped with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens (OV50M or Samsung JN5, which supports macro) and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens (Samsung S5KHPE, which is speculated to support 5x optical zoom).

It’s worth noting that in addition to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, another major product is expected to debut at this launch event – the Xiaomi NAS.

Previously leaked images of the actual device show that this product appears to have a metal casing, a dual-bay design, and a relatively compact size.

The positioning won’t be too geeky; the main goal is to popularize the NAS product category among consumers. The aim is to create the most suitable home storage product for Xiaomi Mijia users. This will involve teams from mobile phones, TVs, tablets, and PCs to continuously refine features such as mobile phone storage expansion and AI photo albums.
