Apple iOS 26 Developer Preview Beta 7 Released: Blood Oxygen Returns on US Apple Watch

Early this morning, Apple released iOS 26 developer preview version Beta 7. Although it is in the late stage of testing, new features have still been added.

First of all, the blood oxygen detection function of the US version of Apple Watch has returned. This is synchronized with the official version of iOS 18.6.1 last week, providing a new blood oxygen experience for US Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 users.

Starting from January 18, 2024, all Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 sold in the United States will no longer have blood oxygen detection capabilities because the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that Apple infringes on some of its Apple Watch blood oxygen sensor patents.

When users open the Apple Watch blood oxygen detection application, a pop-up window will appear on the phone to remind users that the application is no longer available, but it has finally returned.

iOS 26 also adds Adaptive Power Mode to iPhone, alongside the existing Low Power Mode.

Apple says Adaptive Power Mode can make “performance adjustments” when necessary to extend your iPhone’s battery life, including slightly reducing display brightness, allowing certain activities to “take longer,” and automatically turning on Low Power Mode when your iPhone reaches 20% battery life remaining.

Beta 7 adds an additional Adaptive Power Notifications toggle in the Settings app under Battery → Power mode. This setting allows users to choose whether to receive a push notification every time Adaptive Power mode is activated.

It should be noted that although iOS 26 is compatible with iPhone 11 series and newer models, Adaptive Power Mode is only available for iPhone 15 Pro and newer.

In addition, iOS 26 Beta 7 also fixes a bug that caused screenshots to appear dark.
