Apple whistleblower Mark Gurman said that Apple is most likely to hold an iPhone 17 series launch conference in the second week of September.

He said that Apple has always scheduled the iPhone launch event the week after Labor Day in the United States. Labor Day in 2025 is September 1 (Monday), so the target time range for the launch conference is September 8 (Monday) to September 12 (Friday).

Apple has never held major product launches on Fridays, so September 12 can be ruled out, and the company will not schedule an event on September 11. After excluding these dates, September 8 (Monday), September 9 (Tuesday) and September 10 (Wednesday) are the most likely times for launch conferences. Mark Gurman believes that September 9 (Tuesday) or September 10 (Wednesday) are the most likely.

Looking back at previous iPhone launches, five of the last ten iPhone launches were held on Tuesdays and three on Wednesdays. Only one was held on Monday (2024). From the calendar, a launch event could theoretically be held on Monday, but the possibility is relatively low.

It is reported that this year Apple will release four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple Watch Ultra 3 are also expected. The company usually sends out media invitations about a week before the event.

Because of the high attention this press conference received, netizens called it the “Spring Festival Gala of Technology”.
