Apple issued a press release on its official website early this morning, announcing that Apple smartphones will soon support more languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese, as well as localized English for Singapore and India.

The new languages will be released in April with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 to almost all regions around the world, and developers can start testing the releases starting today.

It should be noted that Apple specifically emphasized that the launch time of Apple smartphones in China will depend on the approval of regulatory authorities.

In other words, if Apple smartphones fail to pass the review in April, they will still not be available in the country.

It is reported that Alibaba has confirmed its cooperation with Apple to provide localized services for Apple smartphones, and Apple has submitted its AI functions to relevant agencies for approval.

With the release of the above software updates, iPhone and iPad users in the EU will have access to Apple intelligence features for the first time; Apple intelligence will also be expanded to new platforms (supporting US English) through Apple Vision Pro, helping users to communicate, collaborate and express themselves in new ways.

Apple emphasized that Apple Intelligence marks a major advancement in AI privacy protection, properly protecting user privacy at every stage. This protection starts with processing tasks on the device side, and many models used by Apple Intelligence only run on the device side.

Apple also mentioned that Apple intelligence will continue to expand its capabilities in the coming months, including “more Siri-related features.”
