Apple’s foldable iPhone Ultra renders leaked: only 4.5mm thick and supports split-screen.

A blogger discovered clues in the code of the iOS 27 beta version and created renders of the foldable phone iPhone Ultra (tentative name) that Apple is expected to release this fall.

These renders are said to be the closest to the actual device’s appearance to date, and the price is expected to exceed $2,000.

In terms of design, the new phone adopts a book-style horizontal inward folding design, with a body made of titanium, giving it a lightweight and sturdy feel.

When unfolded, it is only 4.5mm thick on one side, even thinner than the current iPhone Air. When folded, its size is similar to a regular candybar phone, making it easy to carry around.

It is only available in two minimalist color options: black and white. The rear camera features only a wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle dual-lens setup, lacking a telephoto lens, which limits its imaging capabilities compared to similarly priced Android foldable flagships.

In terms of performance configuration, the iPhone Ultra will be equipped with the new A20 chip, 12GB of RAM as standard, and Apple’s self-developed communication baseband, natively supporting satellite communication functions, significantly upgrading signal strength and multitasking capabilities.

The biggest highlight of this product is its exclusive large-screen split-screen function, which allows multiple applications to run simultaneously on the extra-large inner screen, enabling simultaneous operation of office work and multimedia, thus addressing the long-standing weakness of iPhones in multi-window usage.

Industry analysts say this foldable phone is aimed at high-end users with mobile office needs, combining mobile phone communication and tablet large-screen operation in one device. However, its high price and lack of a telephoto lens may hinder its market competitiveness.
