Huawei Mate XT2 tri-fold folding phone arrives in September, featuring the first Kirin 9050 series chip.

Blogger Dingjiao Digital hinted that the Huawei Mate XT2 tri-fold folding camera will be released in September, with limited initial stock, requiring quick action to secure a unit.

Compared to the previous generation’s S-shaped folding design, the Huawei Mate XT2 pioneered a U-shaped folding solution, with the screens on both sides folding inward to enclose the main screen inside the body.

Meanwhile, the Huawei Mate XT2 is also equipped with an independent external screen, so you can make and receive calls, quickly reply to messages, and scan commuting codes without unfolding the large internal screen.

In addition, the phone will be the first to be equipped with the Kirin 9050 series flagship chip, which adopts logic folding technology and is based on a brand-new free logic design concept, expanding from a single layer to a double layer, and achieving a significant improvement in indicators such as transistor density.

It’s worth mentioning that the previous generation Kirin 9030 series adopted a differentiated dual-core layout strategy, simultaneously launching two SOCs: the standard Kirin 9030 and the high-end Kirin 9030 Pro. Following past product planning logic, the Kirin 9050 series is also expected to include two chip versions with different positioning: a standard version and a Pro version.

As a top-tier flagship, the Huawei Mate XT2 is likely equipped with the Kirin 9050 Pro. This time, Huawei has taken the lead in implementing the logic folding technology on the Kirin flagship chip, achieving a leap in core performance through innovation in the underlying architecture, marking a leapfrog upgrade for domestic chips.
