Dimensity 9400 is the first to support Samsung LPDDR5X 10.7Gbps: the world’s fastest mobile memory
Samsung Semiconductor officially announced today that the 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X has been verified on MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity mobile platform.
According to reports, the verification of the 10.7Gbps operating speed was carried out using Samsung’s 16GB LPDDR5X packaging specification and based on the Dimensity 9400 flagship mobile platform that MediaTek plans to release in the second half of the year.
The new DRAM delivers approximately 25% better performance while reducing power consumption by 25%, which can extend the battery life of mobile devices and significantly improve the performance of on-device AI functions.
It is worth mentioning that this is also the fastest mobile phone memory known in the world, which will bring full-blooded performance to the Dimensity 9400 flagship.
Of course, in addition to the ultra-high-speed memory, the Dimensity 9400 itself has top-level specifications in the industry. It is built using TSMC’s latest second-generation 3nm process N3E, and still continues its powerful full-core solution.
The CPU part consists of 1 Cortex-X925 super core, 3 Cortex-X4 super cores, and 4 Cortex-A7 series large cores. The frequency of the new Cortex-X925 super core engineering sample is 3.4GHz.
The performance of the Cortex-X925 super-core is 36% higher than that of the X4, and thanks to the 3MB private L2 cache, the performance of AI workloads is increased by 41%. With the large-scale application of large models on mobile phones today, the AI function experience will be greatly improved.
The GPU integrates the new Immortalis-G925, which improves graphics application performance by 37% compared to the G720, reduces power consumption by 30%, and improves ray tracing performance by 52%.
According to the previously exposed AnTuTu running score, the Dimensity 9400 can reach 3.45 million points, an unprecedented high score, which is more than 1 million points higher than the previous generation and far ahead of competitors.
Over the years, MediaTek’s Dimensity flagships have all supported the latest top-level memory rules. For example, in August 2023, LPDDR5T completed performance verification on the Dimensity 9300 flagship mobile platform with a rate of up to 9.6Gbps. The Dimensity 9400, which will be released at the end of the year, will still have full memory and cache specifications, and will become the most powerful flagship in the Android camp.
