Exclusive for SurgeOS 2! Xiaomi mobile phones/tablets start the no-network positioning test

Xiaomi Community has launched invitations for Xiaomi mobile phones/tablets to test without network positioning, recruiting users to provide test feedback.
This function allows the Pengpai OS 2 device to be located even when there is no network, making it easy to retrieve the device if it is lost or left behind.
This test is to confirm the accuracy and timeliness of mobile phone/tablet positioning in offline state, and requires at least two mobile phones or tablets upgraded to Xiaomi Pengpai OS 2.
Judging from the official information, this offline positioning function should use Bluetooth to connect to surrounding devices to report the location, which is similar to the current positioning mode of Apple and Huawei.
When the device is lost and has no network connection, it will automatically connect and communicate with surrounding Xiaomi devices and report its own location.

The test method is as follows:
① Enable the function: If your registration is approved, please go to “Settings-Account-Find Device-Location Settings” and turn on “No Network Positioning”.
② Simulate loss scenario:
Simulate lost device A: Turn off the network (WiFi/mobile data), keep Bluetooth on, and keep the device with you (for example: in your pocket or bag) for more than 30 minutes.
Simulate the search for device B: Turn off Bluetooth and view the offline location on the “Find Device” map page (a gray circle and an update time of ≤30 minutes is considered successful).
Recommended testing locations: shopping malls, stations and other high traffic areas.
